Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how MiraFolio (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles your information. MiraFolio is a wallpaper companion app for iPhone that rotates photos you choose as your lock screen wallpaper.
The short version: MiraFolio is designed to work on your device. We do not require an account, we do not run our own servers that receive your photos or personal data, we do not use analytics or advertising SDKs, and we never sell your data. Your photos stay on your device unless you explicitly turn on iCloud sync or the optional AI tagging feature.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
MiraFolio does not ask you to create an account and does not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, or advertising identifiers. The App contains no third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs. We do not receive, store, or have access to your photos or usage data on any server operated by us.
2. Photo Library Access
To rotate wallpapers, MiraFolio asks for permission to access your photo library (with iOS you may grant access to all photos or only selected photos). Photos are read, displayed, and processed entirely on your device. The App may also request permission to add images to your photo library when you export photos or save images received via Wi-Fi transfer. Revoking photo access in iOS Settings at any time stops the App from reading your library.
3. Private Album
The App offers a Private Album whose photos are stored only inside the App's own storage container (sandbox) on your device. They do not appear in the system photo library. You can optionally protect the Private Album with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode. Biometric authentication is performed entirely by iOS; the App never sees, stores, or transmits your biometric data — it only receives a success/failure result from the system.
4. iCloud Sync (Optional)
If you enable iCloud sync for the Private Album, its photos and related metadata are stored in your own private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit) associated with your Apple Account, so you can access them across your devices. This data is transmitted to and stored by Apple under your iCloud account; we cannot access it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can turn off sync at any time in the App's settings, and you can delete synced data by deleting the photos from the Private Album.
5. AI Tagging (Optional, Bring Your Own Provider)
MiraFolio includes an optional feature that uses an AI vision model to automatically suggest tags for photos in your Private Album. This feature is off by default and only works if you configure it yourself with the API endpoint, model name, and API key of an OpenAI-compatible service of your choice.
- When you run AI tagging, downscaled copies of the selected photos are sent directly from your device to the API endpoint you configured. We do not operate that service and never receive the images.
- The processing of those images is governed by the privacy policy of the provider you chose (for example, OpenAI). Please review your provider's terms before enabling this feature, especially for sensitive photos.
- Your API key is stored locally in the iOS Keychain on your device and is only used to authenticate requests to the endpoint you configured. It is never sent anywhere else.
6. Wi-Fi Transfer (Optional)
The Wi-Fi transfer feature starts a temporary web server on your device so that you can drag and drop images from a computer's browser on the same local network. Transfers happen directly between your computer and your iPhone over your local network and do not pass through any external server. The server runs only while the transfer screen is open. Anyone on the same local network who knows the displayed address could reach the upload page while it is running, so we recommend using this feature only on networks you trust.
7. Purchases
Optional Pro features are sold through Apple's App Store (In-App Purchase). Payment is processed entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details. The App stores a local record of your purchase status on your device and verifies entitlements with Apple through StoreKit. Purchase history and refunds are managed by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy.
8. Shortcuts and Automation
Wallpaper changes can be triggered through Apple Shortcuts and personal automations you set up. These run locally on your device via the iOS Shortcuts app and do not send data to us.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
Because all App data (wallpaper states, tags, private photos, settings, API key) lives on your device — and, if you enabled sync, in your own iCloud account — you are in full control of it:
- Deleting photos in the App deletes them from the App's storage (and from your iCloud sync data, where enabled).
- Deleting the App removes all locally stored data, including your API key from the Keychain entry owned by the App.
- iCloud data can also be managed through iOS Settings → your Apple Account → iCloud.
10. Children's Privacy
MiraFolio is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the App collects no personal data on our servers, no such data can be held by us.
11. Security
Private Album photos are stored in the App's sandboxed container, protected by iOS system security and, optionally, biometric lock. API keys are stored in the iOS Keychain. Network requests to your configured AI provider use HTTPS when your endpoint supports it (the default endpoint does).
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when features change. The current version will always be available at this page, with the effective date shown at the top. Material changes will be reflected in the App's update notes.
